Partially Blocked Ditch / Drainage System

This ditch connects to the one further up Butcher's Lane via a pipe under the driveways for Netherside and Willows properties. I have just reported the other ditch as partially block and this one in the same.

The ditch is roughly 50% blocked due to fallen tree branches, hedges along with a build up of silt/mud & leaves.

This clogging of the ditch and drainage system combined with the similar issues with the ditch further up the road are causing the ditches to be overwhelmed during heavy rainfall and this causing water to back up and overflow onto the road which is obviously potentially dangerous for road users as well as leading to quicker deterioration of the road surface due to the effect of erosion caused by quickly flowing water over the road surface.

Both ditches need to be cleared of debris and dredged to deepen them in order to ensure smooth and clear flow for run off water.
