The pictures show 5 of 6 drains between Thorpe Mandeville and Lower Thorpe that are either completely blocked with mud & debris, or bypassed due to damaged verges. Increased contractor traffic has resulted in soil from verges being pushed into the carriageway, thereby exacerbating the problem.

Some drains were cleaned but for some bizarre reason the drains from Thorpe Mandeville down Banbury Lane to Lower Thorpe were left blocked as per photos. Not only has this not solved the problems but since water will block back up when it rains the other drains will once more block. Please clean the road between Thorpe Mandeville from the last house to Lower Thorpe urgently

  • Further to the above update I have been informed the drain at the end of Townsend Lane outside Grange Farmhouse is also partially blocked. It obviously was not cleaned at the recent visit and the debris will simply swill down to the few drains that were cleaned. This requires urgent attention. Why were these drains not done at the previous visit?
