Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2563208.
The following email was sent to our Parish Council and I was pointed in this direction...
"On the other side of our wall (Dowthorpe side) is quite a long stretch of council / highways land - we've been told that this was originally grass, which would make sense as the rest of the area is. That said, since we've lived here (July 2012), it has always been unkempt bramble bushes that have caused a number of issues, namely, damaging the wall, growing over the wall into our garden and affecting other trees/plants, being generally unkempt and encroaching on the pavement making it both difficult and dangerous for passers-by (covered with thorns everywhere).
We have previously reported this to the council (I can't remember who, hence me emailing you!) and they have had the brambles strimmed a couple of times over the years, however, it's obviously been done as and when there is availability and when we have really pushed the issue on a number of occasions.
About 6 months ago, we had some small trees removed in our garden and so, whilst the tree surgeons were here, we got them to remove the brambles once and for all at our own cost. We now have a landscaper booked in for July and he is going to re-turf the area to bring it back to its former glory!
What I'm after is a contact, at whichever council, to see if they would be willing to assist us to pay for this area of the work, considering it is council owned land?"
Thank you for reporting a fault. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.
