The enclosed photos were taken on Violet Lane where trial excavation holes were dug in the verge to show the full extent of the tarmac highway that is overgrown on each side. Those holes were dug opposite each other, approximately between 400-500yds from Glendon Road. 8 trial holes have been dug approximately 10 meters apart from each other to show the general extent to which the verge has overgrown onto the highway. The shovel in the pictures above has been used as a scale and in these two photographs the verge has grown over the road between 450-600mm on each side, this is general for the length of Violet Lane. I dug these to assist your investigation. As a note, when these verges are cleared on the right hand side of the Violet Lane, when approaching from Glendon Road, GigaClear have installed fiber optic cable in the verge, additional care should be taken when clearing this side. I hope this is of assistance to your investigation. Sincerely, Lee Burley

The above photo is an example of how the overgrown verges, that have narrowed the road, have blocked necessary drains. As you can see the drain is completely blocked solid for the last 15 years, the last time this road was maintained was December 2006, but the drains were never cleaned out, water now collects at the bottom of Violet Lane and dissipates into land owners property which I have had to clear to stop flooding in the road. I do not think I should have to do this on a public road.
