40 mph signs hidden / missing

Dear sir/ madam
I live at 175 Bedford road, I am a new mother and go for a walk along the A6 everyday and feel completely vulnerable.
People speed up to 70/80miles per hour along this road, there are 40mph signs but they are either tiny, or hidden by overgrown trees.
This needs to be addressed please, I feel very uneasy walking along the road, down towards the skatepark where I take my baby daily and it’s very dangerous. When I walk across the tiny pedestrian crossing, sometimes a lorry has shot past at 60mph which has blown my pram on one occasion!
A police speed van park’s opposite my house sometimes, but this is not solving the problem.
This is very serious, please can this be looked into for the safety of my child ASAP. More signs, bigger signs or a speed camera? I’m sure the problem is lack of understanding that the speed reduces to 40mph at that part of the A6 until a lot further down the road.
Please help.
Kind regards Siobhan Willmott of 175 Bedford Road NN10 0sa
