Bridleway damaged by vehicles
Reported via mobile in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 12:46, Friday 5 March 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2588822.
This bridleway has been excessively damaged by vehicles. The pathway is incredibly deep and some of it is very thick mud which is very dangerous for horses to walk through. Serious leg injuries or pulled shoes could occur through this terrain. As the weather improves hopefully this will eventually dry out but if no work is done to rectify it the bridleway will be impassable again come wetter weather. I have had to avoid this bridleway for months now because the damage has made it not safe. 52.165623, -0.871693 (put these coordinates into google for location) The nearest place to park on hard standing is East Lodge Courteenhall NN7 2QF, there is a private gravel track which pretty much takes you to the area that has then been damaged.
Thank you for reporting a fault. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.

Thank you for your enquiry. This location was inspected on 5-3-21. Contact has been made with the relevant landowner who has been on site with a power harrow to remove the vehicle tracks along the bridleway to make it safe. Unfortunately the surface will remain wet and muddy until ground conditions improve. Northamptonshire Highways will continue to monitor this route.
