Underpass between Camp Hill and Briar Hill, Dayrell Sqare area

Reported via mobile in the Pothole / Failed Reinstatement category anonymously at 14:09, Wednesday 10 March 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2599369.

Firstly due to the leaf mold being removed it shows that the retaining logs are deteriorating and rotting and missing . This will cause mud to collect on the pathway/cycle track in this area causing more problems to the already damaged pathwY. Secondly the pathway is extremely damaged and rutted with areas of surface missing. It is hard for those with mobility issues, wheel chairs/mobility scooters / pushchairs to get through. At the top of the curled pathway between the bollards there is a kerb set of bricks which were originally more level but now standing proud again making it an issue for access. This route is for school children to both the primary and secondary schools in the area, it is used for getting across the main road above for access to Sixfeilds, Tescos and Briar Hill or Camp Hill. It also is a repository for shopping trolleys and other refuse although it has been recently cleared.

  • Where the bricks by the concrete posts into the top of the path going into the curl a dollop of mixture has filled in the hole growing. But, the raise and drop is still not easy to pass with my mobility scooter. The wood struts have not been replaced which are rotten and was to be actioned. The path was considered into the underpass as not in need of repair which is incredible. Try going in a mobility scooter or with a pushchair. It is not so easy . There is now graffiti on the walls of the underpass and often broken glass scattered along the ground. It needs checking more often to keep it safe for all.
