Blocked drain

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 10:51, Thu 11 March 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2601097.

Following overnight rain, the water at the drain cover is about 3cm above the cover. This hasn't occurred here before, and the drain underwent a routine cleaning by the special lorry a month or two ago. Could be a blockage further downstream?

  • This drain remains blocked, as it overflowed again today (fri 26th mar) after a shower of rain. can this be looked at sooner rather than later please?

  • This drain remains blocked still, and was overflowing most of yesterday (Sun 9th May 2021). It has been 2 months since I first reported this. I don't want the risk of my drive / garage flooding should we get heavier rainfall. Please can this be looked at? Thanks. John Adams / 2 Milldale Road

  • The drain on the opposite side of Milldale Rd is now also blocked. Both drains are full to the top after moderate rain. I think there must be a blockage in the main pipework in the road. Can this be looked at soon? Thank you.

  • This drain is now regularly blocked, including this morning. It is causing flooding of a resident's property in Pebbleford Road and needs urgent action.

  • When it rains hard, the water spreads out towards the middle of the road, and it is a potential hazard to pedestrians as cars go through it.

  • Following an on-site inspection there is no action required at this time.
