Failed road surface and obliterated line markings
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 09:46, Fri 19 March 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2619118.
This problem is perpetually being reported to the council, and was addressed not too long ago with a repair of some sort, but the problem is that the quality of the repair was totally inadequate. A shoddy job is just false economy. Rather than wasting money on the mini roundabout and traffic signals at the nearby junction why not spend the money doing a proper repair of the road surface? Incidentally, the trees which have been chopped down on the corner to make way for the new junction - when and where are they going to be replaced? The planet could do with more trees, not less!

Thank you for contacting the County Council regarding the S278 at Brackley Road Towcester. The Trees and hedge at this location have been removed to provide a visibility splay for traffic joining the mini Roundabout from the A413. This is not a decision that would have been taken lightly as the council completely agrees with the benefits of trees to the climate and ecological benefit of the planet. However it is necessary to deliver the safe implementation of the rounadabout as agreed at the planning stage.
