Entire length of footpath still cracked, uneven, crumbling surface, holes - DANGEROUS

Reported via mobile in the Pothole / Failed Reinstatement category anonymously at 10:43, Wednesday 14 April 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2670729.

2393551 Fault This should not be marked as fixed as no repairs have taken place. Your contractors have only removed weeds and swept the path. That is appreciated but does nothing for the holes, collapsed tarmac, crumbling surface etc

To say the residents are fuming at your claim of fixed is an understatement.

We have made it clear that the foot path needs to be resurfaced.

  • Also to note that the weeds and turf that were removed were dumped in the ditch. This will block the drainage pipes and cause flooding and is not the correct place for this waste. As mentioned, the footpath is still very uneven and hazardous.

  • The length of the poorly maintained footpath is over 400meters, yet your inspector has only marked less than 1 meter to repair - which is ridiculous. I think you need to reinspect and accept that the whole length of the footpath needs to be repaired and brought to a standard where pedestrians, wheelchairs and pushchairs can safely use the path.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the proposed repairs to this footpath and apologise that the report was erroneously marked as fixed before. Although some works have been completed, we can confirm that there is still a footway pothole to complete. This should be concluded within a months’ time. Please be assured that we have taken all comments on board regarding the dissatisfaction with the condition of footway; however, there are no current plans to resurface this length of the path. We will; however, continue to monitor the area as part of our routine inspections.
