Reported via desktop in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 13:55, Wed 14 April 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later.
There is extensive damage to the verges on this road due to inconsiderate parking by visitors to the reservoir. Today when cycling down this road I nearly forced off the road by an inappropriately large HGV driving up. Had I been adjacent to one of these areas of damage I could have crashed and been badly injured.
Thank you for reporting a fault. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.

This has also been reported a number of times before. The roadside was significantly damaged by passing vehicles when it was used as a signed (by Highways!) diversion. The side of the road has subsequently been deepened by rain water runoff on the steep hill. The drop-off on the edge of the road is more than 20cm in some areas. Also this erosion against the tarmac has shown that over the past 4-5 resurfacings the road surface has narrowed by as much as 8". This has also been reported by Ravensthorpe PC.
