The pavement is being eroded and the verge is being used for parking

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2683029.

The pavement is wearing away and there is no path edging, as such this is unsafe. simple fix is to put up barriers to stop the path/verge being parked on.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. We can advise that the footways do not meet our investigatory levels for renewal or repair. This is based on whether there are significant hazards that would impede pedestrian usage. We are unable to consider remedial works such as bollards, hard-standing or other preventative measures and will only intervene in exceptional circumstances, where the problem has become a safety concern to either road users It may be worth contacting Pattishall Parish Council to see whether they are willing to support your request, whereby a resolution to the parking issues can be sought. However, where there is an issue with parking as with this scenario, it is difficult to solve the problem with engineering measures without either opposition from the local community or the displacement of vehicles to another location, and therefore we rely on motorists to park in a sensible and considerate manner.or pedestrians.
