Would like consideration for markings to be made on the road to stop people parking in front of the garages

Would like consideration for markings to be made on the road to stop people parking in front of the garages. People are blocking the garages constantly and 24/7 access is needed for these garages. Please can yellow lines or NO PARKING markings be considered for in front of the garages. Customer who reported this also stated she is happy to pay for a parking post that she can lock and collapse when she needs access but can be put up to stop people blocking the garages. Email on next page if this wants to be discussed with her. Signs are already on the garage to state 24/7 access required.

  • Thank you for your enquiry about parked vehicles which block access to garages. I am not sure if this is for private drives/garage in a garden, or the block of garages near Maxwell Walk. If it is private garages within individual properties, you can apply for an obstruction marking, which is a white line on the road edge across the gateway. Information about this can be found here: parking-roads-and-transport/ obstruction-driveways-apply-white-access-line and you can also apply via this link. If the vehicles are stopping access to the block of four garages, then markings on the road may not deter people from parking here. If you rent a garage here, you need to contact Landlord Services and ask if they would consider putting a keep clear marking on the forecourt outside the garages. They would also be the people who would need to give permission for a lockable post to prevent parking. You can contact them by email from this webpage: home/ housing-and-neighbourhood-services/ landlord-services/ garages. I hope this helps you resolve the issue.
