Blocked ditch causing flooding

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 16:53, Monday 3 May 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2704155.

Ref: 2552621 This case is now closed however there was no explanation as to what is going to be done about it. I reported this in April as follows: The ditch which runs down the hill from Slapton in to Bradden is blocked in several places. It is culverted but in places the water breaks out where the culvert have collapsed and the water runs along the edge of the road. It pools at the end of Water lane. This has been a long term problem but has been worse recently when it hs frozen across the road and in to the lane where several elderly people live, making it treachorous.I have marked a particular drain which needs clearing but there are several points up as far as the village sign which need attention.

  • The original collapse has been repaired and this was why the report was closed. Are you able to email a photo of the marked drain please? regulations.ncc@westnorthants.gov.uk

  • I sent a photo of the marked drain with the previous report showing it blocked by vegetation. Do you wish for another of the same drain? When was the original collapse repaired. Also note that I am reporting the whole ditch being blocked right up to the village sign - not just the marked drain. The drain is serving little purpose as most of the water cannot reach it.

  • I did email but I've just realisedyour email address is a do not reply. So I have put another more recent photo up but here they are again. You can't actually see the drain because of the vegetation.

I don't think this drain has ever been looked at, collapsed or repaired and I'm wondering if you are talking abut the same one. I did select it from your map
