4 big pot holes, caused a motorbike to crash

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 13:22, Friday 7 May 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2712014.

These pot holes have grown since the initial report on ID 2157756 into 4 pot holes straight after each other, there might as well not be a road here... I have witnessed a bad crash of a motorbike because of them and you originally said you guys would've been out to fix this pot hole. How do we progress this to prevent it from getting worse?

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of Wellingborough Road; specifically that you feel there are large potholes in the road, the road surface is breaking up and is potentially dangerous to all motorists. We also note, with regret, that you feel these concerns were not fully addressed in a previous Street Doctor report. We appreciate your comments and have carried out an assessment of the issue and are pleased to confirm that the carriageway defects that meet the specifications for remedial work you have indicated in this location, have a repair scheduled to resolve them. This should hopefully be completed by the 11th October. Please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded.
