Lane markings across roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 16:10, Wednesday 12 May 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2722057.

I use this roundabout 4 times a day exiting Rockingham road onto the roundabout. I have lost count of the near misses I have witnessed on this roundabout because people get in the wrong lane. Using the right hand lane to go straight over the roundabout but then not being able to merge over because the middle lane users don’t move to the left as they exit the roundabout towards Corby. The lanes need to be clearly defined across the roundabout to ensure people stay on the correct area of the roundabout. Please address this as soon as possible.

  • Thank you for your query to Northamptonshire Highways Street Doctor Service with reagrd to your concerns about the roadmarking arrangement on the A6003 Rockingham Road approach to the A43 roundabout. This issue has been referred to our Engineering Team for a review of the signing and roadmarkings on this approach in order to address any concerns. The roundabout is on a provisional list for resurfacing this year so the amendment to the roadmarkings would be undertaken as part of these works.
