Blocked culvert causing flooding to private properties on Glebe Road. House number 174's garden has began to flood due t9o the blockage. This has previously been reported in December 2020 but still are having issues with flooding.

We understand that you have concerns about a blocked culvert on Glebe Road; specifically, that you feel it is blocked up and therefore poses a flooding risk. We have carried out an assessment of the problem and are pleased to confirm that the problem you have indicated in this location, has a repair scheduled to resolve it. This should hopefully be completed within a months’ time, hopefully as soon as possible. Please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded.

  • Blockage is actually in wrong place on map. It's behind gas vent building on other side of road next to 174 Glebe Road.

We understand that you have concerns about the drainage on Hayes Road; specifically that you feel they are blocked and are flooding your property. We appreciate your concerns and have carried out an assessment of the issue and are pleased to confirm that our emergency crew will be attending the area today to jet the culvert.

  • Thank you for jetting the culvert today. Unfortunately the culvert is now completely blocked again. There is clearly a major problem. Is it possible to trace the direction of the water course to locate it?

  • Thank you for your further comments. We can confirm that there is an ongoing drainage investigation into the water issues in this area. We hope to have an understanding of what is causing this blockage within the next 28 days’ time. If we are able to rectify this blockage within this time, we will; however, it may be likely that we will plan a repair once the origin of the blockage comes to light.
