A428 up to Northamptonshire Border Sign, very poor road condition - numerous large potholes

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 13:19, Monday 24 May 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2745766.

On the A428, where the island is between the A428 and A5, just where you turn off from the M1 junction 18, the road condition of the A428 heading towards Hillmorton is extremely poor, there are numerous potholes that are unavoidable by road users. It is particularly bad just past Tesco Dirft Distribution and the Tesco Grocery store, but the A428 road condition is poor from this point up the Northamptonshire border sign travelling towards Hillmorton. Very dangerous road condition, could cause blow outs and possible accidents.

  • This evening (Sun 13/6/21) just before 6pm I hit 1 or more of the potholes already reported resulting in a completely ripped tyre with damage to the rim too. My car, myself and my son needed to be collected by a recovery truck and taxi and brought safely home. I am now without this car for work tomorrow until it can be sorted. Safe to say I am absolutely furious about this and can't bear to think about what could have happened !! Please advise what the next steps are regarding compensation of my expenses.
