Overgrown conifers blocking pathway

Reported via mobile in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 14:40, Thu 3 June 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2766378.

I am Secretary of Corby Old Village Neighbourhood Association (COVNA) and recently, residents have been complaining to me about the hedge of 4 Tunwell Lane. I have messaged him and he has assured me that he will ‘tackle’ the overgrowth, but nothing has happened. I’ve even supplied him with contact details of a gardener.

The problem is the conifers are growing over the pavement on The Jamb. Cars park in the layby and there is nowhere for pedestrians to go, other than on the road, to get past the overgrown trees. One of the residents has to use a mobility scooter and is fearful for her safety, and I have one resident who is visually impaired and the conifer overgrowth is a danger for her. There is no possibility of social distancing when you are trying to walk along this pavement.

4 Tunwell Lane is a business operating for Care at home residents, I’m afraid their philosophy does not apply to their business premises.

Please can you instruct him to do something about these conifers - so that old village residents can have their pavement back.

Thank you

Beverley Blackburn COVNA Secretary
