Overgrown tree causing visibility, obstruction safety concerns for pedestrians
Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 20:35, Tue 15 June 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2794644.
All of the trees along Highfield Road are in desperate need of maintenance. They are overgrown and hanging low meaning pedestrians have to duck under them. High winds cause large branches to break off and fall potentially causing harm/damage which is worrying especially with the close proximity to the school.

Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the trees along Highfield Road; specifically that you feel the basal growth is overgrown and restricts accessibility of the pathway. We appreciate your concerns and can confirm that the vegetation in this area are programmed to be cut, in the near future, under our maintenance programme. This will most likely be in October, as there are currently birds nesting in the vegetation there. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
