Overgrown hedge full length of Ashton Road

The hedge on the North Side of Ashton Road is overgrown, forcing cyclist and motorist into the middle of the road. The two foot paths to the Nene Valley Business Park are both badly overgrown.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the hedge adjacent to Ashton Road; specifically that you feel it is overgrown and encroaches on the road. We appreciate your concerns and can confirm the growth is programmed to be cut back, in the near future, under our maintenance programme. This will most likely be in October, as there are currently birds nesting in the vegetation there. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  • October is over, do you have a date for doing this work? As a cyclist I find the current situation is very dangerous, especially on dark evenings when there is a strong change of getting eye damage from overhanging brambles.
