Towcester Town Council has received a report raising concerns over a tree on land adjacent between the boundary wall of 33 Northampton Road and the public footpath. There are roots from the tree present in the footpath, which is a trip hazard and the owner of 33 Northampton Road is concerned these may also pose a risk to the property. An inspection of the tree is required to determine the best course of action.

Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the footpath adjacent to Northampton Road; specifically that you feel the surface has been disrupted by tree roots and is presenting a trip hazard. We appreciate your comments and have carried out a further assessment of the issue and are pleased to confirm that the footway defects that meet the specifications for remedial work you have indicated in this location, have a repair scheduled to resolve them. This should hopefully be completed within a months’ time. Please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded.
