Drain has been missed following the emergency contractors coming out last week.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the drain on Sycamore Road. We note with regret, that you feel it is blocked and causing potential flooding issues. We have carried out an assessment of the problem and are pleased to confirm that the issue you have indicated in this location, has a works order to investigate, clean and test the gully. This should hopefully be completed within a months’ time. Please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded.

  • Thank you for your further comments. We can confirm our drainage team cleaned the gullies on on the routine cyclical programme in August 2021. The leaves debris has been reported to our Street Cleaning department who will endeavour to respond within the next 5 working days.

  • I'm sorry however the drains have not been cleaned on a routine cyclical programme during August 2021. If you look back on your records the council instructed emergency contractors to attend Main Road and the side roads following flooding in the street. There are a number of drains that still have not been cleaned following them being logged in early August. - I look forward to your response.

  • Thank you for your further comments. We can confirm that the report contains images of the drains being attended to. Unfortunately, due to the weather and season, the drain covers can get covered with leaf litter. Which is why we have asked the Street Cleaning department to attend.
