Overgrown hedge onto footpath

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2859189.

The hedge outside 268 Wellingborough Road, Rushden needs to be cut by the owners of the property! It overhangs three quarters of the path, and has been like it for some time.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the vegetation on this section of pathway; specifically that is encroaching the pathway and obstructing pedestrians. Whilst we appreciate your comments, the location of the vegetation that you have identified is not on the adopted highway. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the private landowner to maintain and is outside Northamptonshire Highways’ control. Nevertheless, we have written to the resident requesting that the vegetation is cut back from the footway within the next 14 days. A revisit will then be made to check this has been done.
