Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 15:02, Fri 16 July 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2869808.

URGENT Overgrown trees on wellingborough road , rushden (Nn106bf) are causing an obstruction and dangerous to drivers. When pulling out of saxonlea close you are unable to see oncoming traffic . I am worried that this will cause an accident. It is the growth at the bottom of the trees which is causing a problem . Please can this be fixed urgently .

  • I urge some urgency with this due to the restricted view that potentially provides likely conditions for an accident when exiting Saxonlea Close.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the vegetation on Wellingborough Road; specifically that you feel it is overgrown and is blocking visibility for motorists. We appreciate your concerns and can confirm that the vegetation in this area are programmed to be cut, in the near future, under our maintenance programme. This will most likely be in October, as there are currently birds nesting in the vegetation there. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  • I reported this problem on 16/7 reference 2869808 . You have closed this on 6/9 and nothing has been done. This is A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, every time i or my neighbours leave the street it is very difficult to get a clear view of the Street to the left. My husband has had to try and cut the growth at the bottom of the street on the right hand side. As we literally could not get a clear view to leave the street without it ring very dangerous. You state there are birds nesting i have checked the bases of the trees and their are NO nests. I am absolutely disgusted that no one has taken notice of my requests for the the trees to be cut. If this is not rectified very soon i will be making a formal complaint and taking this further . Please can someone respond and take action.
