This is a traffic problem but no link to that on your site

Reported via desktop in the Sign/Pole Damaged category anonymously at 08:31, Tue 20 July 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2876673.

As you turn into Sinclair drive on Park farm North opposite Rutherford Drive ,every day there is a line of lorries which park on the roundabout along to Faraday Close .They park across the bus stop so that cannot be used through the day and the only access is a single side to the street .this gives very little to no view when trying to drive or ride past the lorries .

  • I have lots of photos and videos to support this report. This is an accident waiting to happen. These lorries block the bus stop, I believe there is supposed to be yellow lines to stop parking on Sinclair Drive as you leave the roundabout, they are not there now as they e been tarmaced over. The bus has nowhere to stop. When the bus stops on the opposite side or people stop their car to post a parcel the road is blocked and snarled up with lorries for IFCO. When unaware drivers come off the roundabout they are forced to stop and creep around the tail back of lorries and they can’t see oncoming traffic. There will be an accident. The lorries then block most of Faraday Close getting in and out of IFCO and other road users are forced to wait sometimes up to 10 minutes. This leads to angry exchanges and the other week we nearly had to call the police re public order offences. The verges along Faraday Close have been ripped up by the lorries driving on them and they keep parking and blocking the entrance to Edison Close and Faraday Court and use it as a turning point again making others late for work. The HGV operate with no thought for other road users. Highways have just had to repair two massive potholes on Faraday Close outside IFCO at tax payers expense. The other week there was a lorry parked on the corner of Sinclair Drive and Faraday Close and forced a woman and man with a pram to have to go into the main road to get around it. There has since been some bollards out in on that corner but one has been knocked over already. I have asked the police and they told me to report it to Highways as sooner or later there will be an accident or someone will be arrested for assault or public order. This is a huge historic issue and needs dealing with. The HGV’s ignore any signs or requests to move. IFCO’s day to day business is making life for other estate users a misery. Consideration should be given to putting double yellow lines back on Sinclair Drive next to the roundabout to keep the highway clear for all road users and consideration for double yellow lines in Faraday Close to stop the lorries blocking driveways and the highway. My previous career was in policing and this needs a multi agency approach. I am happy to meet with a highways officer to show them the issue and discuss any action. I am also speaking on behalf of the tenants at Edison Court where we are now putting up private road signs on Edison Close and concrete Jersey barriers. You are welcome to call me.
