My name is Colin Sayers and I live next door to the offender who thinks he can do whatever he likes. He has parked on my front lawn several times and dumped his garden waste on my front lawn for up to a month

  • Unfortunately, where there are no parking restrictions in place (such as double yellow lining) the powers the council have to deal with the issue raised are superseded by that of the local police whom have alternative powers. Nuisance parking can be considered a criminal offence if there is clear evidence of wilful obstruction or causing a danger or obstruction to persons or property and where it is deemed not possible for drivers to safely manoeuvre, pedestrians to pass unhindered along the footway or that access to public or private property is impeded. This can then involve local police intervention through their Safer Communities Team by calling the non-emergency number 101 or by following the link on the Northamptonshire Police website. In addition, with the other anti-social behaviour that you have outlined should the situation continue, we would also advise reaching out to your local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) who can assist in mediating discussions between residents to try and educate and find a resolve that suits all parties. Thank you.
