Drain probably blocked when the work was carried out in April/May to fix adjacent flooding.

The drain is blocked (there is one under the standing water in the photo). Pedestrians exiting the green space get splashed by passing vehicles.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the drains adjacent to High Street. We note with regret, that you feel they are blocked and causing flooding to the road surface and a hazard to pedestrians. We are pleased to confirm that the issue you have indicated in this location, has a drainage team that is going to investigate, clean and test the drains. This should be completed within a months’ time. Please be assured that you will receive an update once works are concluded.
