Grass Verge

Reported via mobile in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 20:04, Tue 7 September 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2986322.

Outside number 49 Ashley Way, corner of Coaching Walk grass has been damaged by vehicles mounting low kerb and subsequently re seeded by the resident who has also inserted sticks around the perimeter of the verge. The sticks are dangerous and are a trip hazard. This was reported previously and a letter was sent asking for them to be removed. I reported this last week ref 2976117 it was closed saying it's not the councils responsibility where it must have been before? Please advise who this should be referred to.

  • The sticks can now be found on the verge outside no 47 . Looks like they are taking over the whole street. When will this be sorted? After several letters the resident seems to take absolutely no notice. These sticks are a safety hazard.

  • 15/12 A further letter has been sent to remove the wooden pegs as they have not been removed as requested. A further site visit will take place week commencing 03/01

  • The grass is owned by the council. Remove the grass from both verges in question and replace with tarmac. The owner has no need to tend the grass and create a hazard. This will also add additional parking for the street which is narrow and cars parking on the road creates a chicain when the school rush occurs with cars cutting through to avoid traffic lights at the bottom of Booth Lane.

  • 17/12 The owner has been sent another letter to refrain from placing the pegs in the grass and this will be followed up until this is adhered to. Please take up any parking issues with your local community liaison officer for Northampton. Thank you
