As a resident of Desborough for over 20 years, the continuing problems surrounding right of way on the junction of High Street and Station Road ( The George Corner) have seen many a near miss on a daily basis, with not only motorists but far more concerning the near misses involving both Pedestrians and Cyclists additionally. The junction is a main route for school footfall as well as that for accessing the main street in Desborough. You will note in addition to the non existant road markings NO Give Way sign at the Junction. As traffic comes off of the old A6 often in excess of the permitted 30mph, there is nothing visually prominent indicating a junction on what is one of the busiest areas within the Town, that has grown exponentially over the last few years, with the infrastructure being at a breaking point.
I fully understand the remit on timeframes for these jobs being within 26 weeks, as someone who works closely with Northants Highways and Local Authority within my day job, I'd like to ask that this area is raised as a matter of the utmost importance before we see someone seriously hurt or killed on the junction, which is blind in addition from every angle on approach.
