Footpath becoming unusable due to bushes and trees

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 14:35, Tuesday 14 September 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3000615.

The footpath from the underpass between Ecton Brook and Gt Billing pocket park up to Gt Billing Way is becoming unusable and dangerous. The bushes and shrubs have grown over the path significantly reducing the with so as people on mobility scooters and with a pushchair are unable to use it. Also impossible for people to pass on it without having to go up on grass bank which has a steep slope downwards to the underpass and in the wet it would be easy to fall or slip down it causing serious injury. Even using the path as a pedestrian is awkward because the trees and bushes overhang the path. The path has lost over 3/4 of it's width and is really dangerous

  • I have checked and IT IS THE COUNCILS RESPONSIBILITY. They maintain the underpass and the paths and bushes leading to it and this is one of those paths and bushes. The council has duty of care to people using their paths. I i have an accident because of the state of the path being unusable and in a dangerous condition, I WILL CONSULT A SOLICITOR in regards to further action, The council has taken care of every path in the area of the underpass and Gt Billing Way. I will not let this matter rest
