30 mph sign obscured by large direction sign
Reported via desktop in the Obscured by vegetation or Dirty category anonymously at 16:34, Thu 16 September 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3006123.
Hi there,
The nearside 30 mph sign is obscured by the large direction sign.
The regulatory minimum clear visibility distance for a 30 mph sign on a 40 mph approach is 40 metres but the actual distance is only 20 metres.
Thanks very much

Hi there,
Thank you for the update but I don't think this report should be closed until the signage has been inspected and a decision taken either way. Closing the report gives the impression the issue is already resolved.
Thanks very much

I give up, nearly 1 year and neither the local authorities or the police road safety team take any action on this and the huge number of obscured speed limit signs in the county.
The later are happy to set up their speed camera vans near all of these signs and dish out speeding tickets rather than address the root causes.
