As you drive immediately onto Bidwell Lane from Caldecott Road the road surface is terrible, holes, etc

As you enter BIDWELL LANE from Caldecott Road, the road surface is terrible. I have 20 pictures that show how bad it is, with hundreds of little holes and potholes, cracks, bodged repairs, loose gravel and stones etc.. and basically, there isn't one flat or smooth section (at least on the first 150-200m of Bidwell lane, the end bit isn't too bad. It's the entrance og Bidwell and all the way down to the corner. that is terrible. many cars and delivery drivers now use this road to cut across and the traffic can be heavy, its making the road unsafe and dangerous. I have seen the road repair people come a few times this year but to be quite frank its a joke. They spend 10-15 min here, fill in the odd small hole and move on quickly, its a complete mess the whole lot and needs sorting out please. Bidwell lane is a lovely location and ALL the people that live there our house proud and try their best to make the area clean of rubbish and front gardens nice etc The only thing that lets it down is Bidwell Road Surface. PLEASE can you come and invest some real time in scrapping it down and resurfacing it from top to bottom with some new tarmac. PLEASE. Many thanks. Steven Chassaigne, 5 Bidwell Lane.

Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of Bidwell Lane; specifically, that you feel that the road surface is poor. We appreciate your concerns and have carried out an assessment of the issue and are pleased to confirm that the carriageway defects, that meet the specifications for remedial work that you have indicated in this location, has a repair scheduled to resolve them. This should hopefully be completed within six months’ time. Please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded. Usually, we find these defects are tended to by 13 weeks.

Thanks for the speedy update; it's much appreciated; though I am extremely worried that all you are going to do is fill in a few "potholes" that I see have been marked by a yellow square (though these could be old ones, but I'm sure they are new?). If this is the case, then this isn't going to change the state of this road in the slightest I'm afraid. Most of the road needs to be addressed. Filling in 4-5 small pots holes is the bare minimum. I and I'm sure all the people that live on this road pay huge council bills each month (mine is over £300) and to have a half-decent road to use isn't too much to ask. If this road was at the top of Chelveston road, there is no way you would leave it in this state. It needs fixing properly please. The top section that is nearly all gravel now is quite dangerous by the way, when you pull off onto Chelveston road you can easily skid and when it rains its even slippier, Accidents will happen. Then as you drive down past the farm and equestrian centre (that has constant traffic by the way0 and much of it is all 4x4, horse carts, tractors, heavy vehicles etc.... just makes the road even worse by the week. all the sides are all gravel and have hundreds of little holes and are just getting worse and bumpy to drive on, let alone use any sort of bike.. Please can you spend time and really make the raod level and road worthy. Many thanks.

I've just attached a few more pictures of our road. It's just rained so you can see better ALL the pot holes everywhere. Some are now getting really deep and they are getting worse by the week. The whole road from the top down to my house (No5) is terrible AND as you leave Bidwell Lane via the other entrance, the road down there is also very bad. I also notice on the road there was a SLOW DOWN sign written but this has really faded as well. Can your team of road engineers please come and sort this mess out. Its not acceptable and is getting worse and ruining our cars. Many thanks

I'm only allowed to load up 3 pictures of our road, but I have many more to send that will show you how bad the road is still. I knew when the repair people when they came in Nov/Dec 2021 that it would be a rushed repair job that wouldn't last and already the road has loads of potholes, loose gravel everywhere that makes the car skid and the whole road is basically horrible to drive on. There are two big farms at the top of these roads and there are CONSTANT heavy vehicles using it for supplies and agricultural use. These are making the road terrible also. The whole road needs properly repairing. Can someone please come to fix this once and for all? If this road was on a more widely used A or B road it would not be left like this, it's a hazardous risk and dangerous. We all pay our taxes on this street and its not too much to ask for a road that is smooth and NOT full of pot holes, cracks, loose gravel, bumps etc etc.... PLEASE can this road be looked after and repaired properly?
