Speeding

Reported via iOS in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category by Peter Dowsett at 09:02, Fri 1 October 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3035317.

Please can 880 signs be installed on Oundle Road. This proposal was made to me by Matt Mumford of the Safer Roads Team following the attached survey that shows 90% of vehicles over 30mph and a whopping 65% over the NPCC enforcement threshold. The local police team are now enforcing with cameras on this road regularly. Also Matt O’Connel has requested “motorcycle trained officers will provide visible presence on these routes to provide enforcement and education to riders” here.

  • Oundle Rd will be closed to through traffic for the next 2 weeks. This could be an ideal time to install the 880 signs as the high volume of speeding traffic will be absent for the duration.

  • The problem of extreme speed on this residential street is getting much worse. The neighbourhood police and local SpeedWatch team are here regularly. Please can the highways authority instal the 880 signs requested by Matt Mumford at Police Safer Roads Team a year ago.
