Over grown tree touching houses both sides and blocking drives

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 13:31, Tue 19 October 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3071804.

The tree has over grown and is now touching houses both sides. It is also starting to block access to drives as cars cannot get under it without scraping roofs. This tree has slowly been getting worse for at least a year.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Firstly, please accept our sincere apologies with the delay addressing the issues you have raised in this report. We are unsure of how this matter was not acknowledged earlier, but can confirm that it will be reviewed further internally. Whilst we appreciate your comments, the location of the vegetation that you have identified is not on the adopted highway. Unfortunately it is therefore the responsibility of the private landowner to maintain and is outside Northamptonshire Highways’ control. Nevertheless, we have written to the landowner requesting that the vegetation is cut back within the next two weeks. We will endeavour to revisit the site following the two weeks’ notice period.
