Ivy overhanging public footpath.

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 10:19, Wed 20 October 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3073455.

This problem was reported under ref 2625231 on 22nd March 2021 and again under 2746772. The ivy is still overhanging and the neighbour whose responsibility it is has not cut this ivy back. Last comments from Fix My Street when the case was closed was on 5th August when they report "hope to have it cut back within next 6 weeks". This is an issue as members of the public are cannot keep to the footpath because of the ivy hanging over and they divert down a private drive. Please can this be investigated again.

  • This problem just keeps dragging on and on. No signs of anyone coming to cut the ivy back. I did think that if the problem came from a neighbours garden then they would be responsible. Can you therefore confirm that the cost of the works will be charged to the neighbours and not funded by the public purse. A reply would be appreciated.

It is now 15th December and this matter has still not been dealt with. It has been dragging on since March 2021. This is not good enough. The ivy needs removing and no one seems to do anything about it. Please provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you.

  • It is now 7th January 2022 and still no response from you as to when this ivy will be removed or a response to my previous questions. Do I have to involve my Local Councillor to get this matter sorted? as it appears no one else seems to bother. Please update as soon as possible.
