B4525 intersection Turning Right from Helmdon towards Banbury - Vegetation is Overgrown, Reduced Visibility
Reported via desktop in the Weeds category anonymously at 14:59, Wed 27 October 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3087998.
On the B4525 road, it intersects with a road that runs from Helmdon south, down to Brackley Via Radstone (which may be called the Radstone Road). This is near to Blackpits Recycling Centre. As you leave Helmdon travelling south towards Brackley, and get to the intersection with B4525, and turn right on the intersection to head towards Banbury, there is a lot of vegetation on the side of the road that is very overgrown. The visibility is so poor it is believed to have caused an accident between two vehicles on 26/10/2021, as traffic on the B4525 is travelling at 60 mph and with reduced visibility caused by vegetation, this could result in a crash trying to get onto the B4525. The vegetation needs to be cut back so those turning right onto B4525 from Helmdon can see clearly.

Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the vegetation on this section of the B4525. Whilst we appreciate your comments, the location of the vegetation that you have identified is not on the adopted highway. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the private landowner to maintain and is outside Northamptonshire Highways’ control. Nevertheless, we have written to the resident requesting that the vegetation is cut back within the next 14 days.
