Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3130336.

Comptons Street tarmac crumbled and broken up and uneven on whole road. NN1 2BF. Trees and shrubs overhanging and pushing up tarmac. Lots of weed and grass. Rubbish and grit and garden rubbish. Customer fell in front of EE motors and has hurt her self quite badly. She was dodging the tree and slipped on leaves that were covering pothole in tarmac. Fell and sprained wrist.

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the footpath in this area and that you feel like the tarmac surface is in a poor condition. We also note that you have witnessed someone fall in this area and we hope they are recovering well. However, we can confirm that there are no immediate safety concerns relating to this issue that warrant further investigation or repair at this time. But, please be assured that we will continue to monitor the area as part of our routine inspections. We have reported the mud and leaf litter to the appropriate Street Cleansing department who will attend in the next few days. With regards to the vegetation, the location of the vegetation that you have identified is not on the adopted highway. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the private landowner to maintain and is outside Northamptonshire Highways’ control. Nevertheless, we have written to the resident requesting that the vegetation is cut back within the next 14 days.
