Chain link placed across footpath opposite

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 08:30, Wed 24 November 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3140614.

A new build house on Cherwell drive has put up a chain link across & blocking the footpath. The footpath is almost directly opposite the crossing near the Bees Wing pub on Rockingham road Kettering, on to Cherwell drive. Because this path is blocked, people are cutting across the grass inbetween the trees. The chain appears to have been put up, maybe originally by builder whilst doing development & resident thinks it should be permanent & the land is his.

  • The yesterday Sunday 28th November the home owner was observed fixing a timber post across the path. The results of which can be seen in photos attached. The deliberate obstruction of this path means it can no longer be used, pedestrian, anyone with a disability (mobility etc.) & cyclists. Also attached plan showing foot path, as can be seen in photos there is a lamppost ligting the path.
