Part of bridleway GW15 closed
Reported via desktop in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 14:28, Thursday 25 November 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3143667.
Part of bridleway GW15 and part of footpath GW2 have been closed at their junctions with GW3 due to the ongoing works on the A509 near Isham. The parish wasn’t given any prior notice of these closures and it’s annoying to only find the closure sign in the middle of GW15, as shown on the photo of the map attached. This means that you have to retrace your steps and head off in a quite different direction. There was no closure sign on GW2 at the Pytchley end – it would have made sense to place one at the footbridge at the junction with GW3. I wasn’t sure if this was an official temporary closure (ie approved by Highways) or if it was just something the construction team had done themselves.

State changed to: Investigating

Thanks for reporting this we have just investigated and a legal order was made yesterday to close the path for 6 months which I guess could go on longer with works that are taking place. Our colleagues at the definitive map office who made the order have instructed the contractors to erect the legal notices and also erect advance signs.
State changed to: No further action
