Speed limit constantly ignored
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3156449.
As drivers come out of Northampton, just going under railway bridge, drivers constantly overtake other motorists doing the correct speed. The road is used by pedestrians and horse riders going up to Holdenby Bridleway coming from Great Brinkton. The release signs need to be removed and speed of 40mph joined with the signs half a mile up the road before East Haddon crossroad.

Thank you for your enquiry relating to speed of traffic and your request for a review of the current restriction. All requests for a change of speed limit or, as in this case a request for a limit, are referred to our Speed Limit Review Panel for consideration. The panel includes various officers from our Road Safety and Traffic Engineering Teams, the local Community Liaison Officer and a representative from the Police’s Safer Roads Team who has delegated authority from the Chief Constable with regard to agreeing changes to speed limits. Requests are considered by the group taking into account any comments raised, the general characteristics and layout of the area, in addition to speed and collision data. With this in mind, we recommend seeking the support of the Parish Council who will then make further representations to highways on your behalf.
