Problem with drain

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 10:52, Wed 8 December 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3166879.

In even moderately heavy rain the drainage system from High Street down beside The Green just cannot cope. Some drains seem to be in the wrong place so water flows around them rather than down and this results in flooding issues in front of no. 9 The Green. The residents have had to purchase sand bags to try to keep water out of their home. In theory there should be no need for the sandbags as surface water should go into the underground drainage system and then, presumably, into the Cornbrook stream at the rear of 9 The Green. The gulleys are ‘sucked’ out every so often by County Highways but presumably the problem is in the drainage pipes between the gulleys which seem, to me, to need a very good blasting out to remove blockages. Please, please can something be done to make life safer for the family at 9 The Green?
