Footpath flooding

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category by John Thomason Flore flood warden at 11:03, Mon 20 December 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3190292.

The footpath here is below the road level by 12", and water from the highway flows down a gulley to a drain in the footpath. The drain is not marked on this drawing, so I have marked the nearest drain so that I can report it. (Unless I mark a drain the reporting system will not let me report). The drain looks like a 6" diameter inlet, but it does not drain away properly so the residents get a lot of water across the footpath, and the front door to this row of cottages are immediately on the footpath, so they are concerned about flooding. Obviously when there are leaves it just has to be cleared, and if the residents dont do it I do. It has been a long standing problem and so far as I am aware it does not get cleared by the regular drain maintenance programme (I may be wrong). I suspect that the outlet is clogged, and I request that this drain is cleared and the outlet checked, and make sure it is included in the regular maintenance programme. As stated in my report of the drains opposite, the main road is due to be closed in February, which will be an ideal opportunity to dig up and sort it out. Thank you for your attention.
