Blocked drains

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category by John A Thomason (Flood warden) at 11:29, Mon 20 December 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3190369.

I thought I had reported this but it has not appeared on my account. The occupant at no 23 had water coming into her lounge during the most recent storm which has caused damage. The reason is mainly due to a lot of water running down Sutton Street, but now the drains at the top of the street have been sorted, the volume of water flowing down will be reduced, but there is still a risk because the kerb is level with the footpath at this point so any water flowing down will flow on to the footpath. There are two drains outside no 23, and the occupant tells me that cars are always parked there, so when the normal maintenance is done the drains do not get cleared, and they are clearly blocked and need cleaning. On the next maintenance run please can you get your guys to put road cones on the kerbside the day before to stop cars parking so that these drains dont get missed again. There is a risk to no 23 as the floor level is about 15" below the footpath level, and if they get internal flooding you may end up with a claim from their home insurers who have already been and inspected the last lot of damage.
