Potholes

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 11:16, Wed 22 December 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3194353.

The parking area on the A422, which is best described as The Wicken Layby, has very deep potholes along its whole length and across all of its width. In recent months the layby has deteriorated badly, with some of the damage in excess of 100 mm deep and upto 3 metres wide/long. It is now impossible to drive a vehicle into or out of the layby without encountering at least 4 potholes. After dark it becomes mission impossible. When leaving there on Monday toward Northampton , I had to use the far side due to other parked vehicles, and as I neared the end of the layby my car "fell" into a pothole that was nearer to 150 mm deep. Due to recent heavy rain I could not see how deep it was. Sorry not got photos as it was raining heavily. I cannot see that any damaged was caused but the car is having its MoT tomorrow afternoon which will enable me to have a proper inspection. Can you please visit this location (which is just inside the Northamptonshire county line), and assess the situation. Thank you
