The gate just over the brow of the hill is dangerous. The owner has put a tight spring in the gate and the heavy gate

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3202247.

The mechanism needs to be horse friendly and the tight spring needs modifying or removing.

Please note the gate is just over the brow of the field from the location. Just up the road over the hill.

It takes less than a second to slam shut. It should be 8 seconds from 90 degrees

  • Thank you for your enquiry, Site visited. No safety defects found at time of visit. Gate was timed to close at 10 seconds from 90 degrees. Will continue to monitor through highway safety inspections.
