  • Thank you for your enquiry regarding any damage to the grass verges that may be caused by vehicles driving or parking on them. Unfortunately, this is a common seasonal problem where the verges soften due to wet or inclement weather and become prone to rutting. Regrettably, Northamptonshire Highways no longer consider installing ‘No Parking’ type signs or such measures at wooden posts, bollards, or barriers to prevent parking on grass verges to be a priority. We do understand that some verges may look aesthetically messy and unsightly, especially after the typical wet winter weather. Therefore, if they are significantly damaged this can be reported on the West Northamptonshire Council’s online ‘Street Doctor’ system for consideration under our annual maintenance programme for re-seeding (or re-turf if particularly muddy/roiled) in the Spring/Summer months and within the constraints of the Northamptonshire Highways financial budget.
