As per ref 3250615 I appreciate what you have said how ever as we are the ones paying to constantly re turf the area can we not have permission to just tarmac over it ourselves? As you say you haven’t the funds to do it?

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Although we can appreciate the issues you have raised, we are unable to give permission for individuals to undertake work within the highway whereby a precedent would be set making it difficult to refuse similar requests. When undertaking civil works there are many factors we have to consider and regulations we are required to adhere too. Some of these include statutory undertakers apparatus, drainage issues which require design works as well as traffic management. All of these factors are reasons why we are unable to allow for works to be carried out privately.
