Incorrect road markings.

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3271380.

The road markings are incorrect. The approach to this junction from A43 Kettering shows Westbound Traffic to use OFFSIDE (Righthand side) lane only. Middle lane for EASTBOUND traffic or straight over. NEARSIDE lane for business park. I’ve lost count of the amount of close call accidents I’ve seen there. It needs rectification asap.

  • Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways with regard to the roadmarkings at the A14 Junction 7 / A43 Roundabout, Kettering. When the roundabout is next resurfaced the existing roadmarking layout will be reviewed and any necessary amendments made.

    This should not be a closed case. As you can clearly see from the Google Images the markings are incorrect. The force vehicles in to the path of others on their nearside.

    Simple resolution is a paint correction to filter the traffic into the correct lanes.

    Still an ongoing problem. A better “on site risk assessment “ should be done. Simply look at the lane marking vs the signage vs the traffic flow.
