Sharp branches restricting pathway

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3411599.

The hedge on the corner off Tollbar and St James close has some sharp branches across the path .. this happens every year And the are very dangerous. Walking down the path in the evening these scratch your face People are regularly snapping the branches in half to get through

  • Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the vegetation here. Whilst we appreciate your comments, the location of the vegetation that you have identified is not on the adopted highway. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the private landowner to maintain and is outside Northamptonshire Highways’ control. Nevertheless, we have written to the resident requesting that the vegetation is cut back more within the next 14 days.

  • I reported this issue last year and had same response. Nothing was done. It seems Council has absolutely no power or do not want to bother about this
